Small rectangular tan coloured cardboard thread container. Three quarters of lid and container bottom covered with woven print. Red anchor embossed on top left of lid. ‘ANCHOR’ printed in red on lid top with ‘CLARK’S’ printed in black above and ‘FAST COLOUR/Machine Embroidery’ printed below. ‘(anchor)/CLARK & CO.PAISLEY’ printed on each side of lid. 'ART. No. 4531/12 SPOOLS EACH 100 YDS = 92 MET./Cotton Thread Made in Great Britain M.R’ printed on one end of lid. Anchor and 'MACHINE/Embroidery No.30/ANCHOR’ printed on opposite end of lid. 23mm long rectangular section cut out of lid to reveal a blue sticker marked ‘508.’ in white on container bottom. ‘(anchor) CLARK & CO. PAISLEY’ printed on container bottom. ‘F58WA’ ink stamped on bottom. Folded rectangular piece of yellowed tissue paper inside.
