Small rectangular cardboard thread spool container with a light green patterned detachable lid and white bottom. ‘COATS/JUNIOR SPOOL’ printed on lid top in white and black with chain link circle and ‘Super SHEEN/FAST COLOUR’ printed in white on a green and red circle. ‘Cotton Thread Made in Great Britain/12 Spools each 80 Yards (73 Metres)’ and ‘J.& P. COATS’ printed on side of lid. ‘Art No. x669/50 CHAIN’ printed on lid end. Small rectangular section cut out lid end to reveal green sticker marked ‘693.’ on container bottom. ‘B4TA’ ink stamped on bottom. 12 wooden spools of cotton thread inside including two spools of colour number 655 and 500, one each of 651, 664, 733, 850, 756, 441, white, and one unmarked. Six spools are pink coloured, three are yellow, two are red, and one is white. ‘J.& P. COATS/80 YARDS/73 METRES’ printed in green on cream sticker with a red border stuck to one end of spool. ‘MERCER COTTON FAST COLOUR MR’ printed in red on cream sticker at other end.
