Cardboard thread container with 12 spools of thread.
[.1] ‘COATS/(chain link circle)/Super SHEEN/FAST COLOUR’ printed in white and black on lid top. Green oval behind ‘Super’ and red oval behind ‘Sheen’. ‘Super SHEEN J. & P. COATS CHAIN’ printed on each side of lid. ‘ART No. x672/Cotton Thread Made in Great Britain/12 Spools each 100 Yds. (92 Metres)’ printed on one end of lid. ‘(chain link circle) 40 Super SHEEN/CHAIN’ printed on opposite end of lid. 25mm long rectangular section cut out of this end to reveal light green sticker marked ‘678’ in black on container bottom. ‘C05TA’ ink stamped on container bottom.
[.2] – [.11] Ten unused wooden thread spools with cotton thread. Small slanted grooves in wood around each end. J. & P. COATS 100 YDS. MACHINE 40 TWIST 92 MET./Super SHEEN’ printed in green on cream sticker at one end. ‘SUPER SHEEN FAST COLOUR MERCERISED’ printed on cream sticker at other end.
[.2] – [.7] Six spools of red thread, colour number 442.
[.8] – [.10] Three spools of light blue thread, colour number 404.
[.11] Spool of light pink thread, colour number 655.
[.12] Spool of dark red thread, colour number 701. ‘MERCER COTTON FAST COLOUR M.R’ printed in red on bottom.
[.13] Spool of dark blue thread, colour number 602. ‘MERCER COTTON FAST COLOUR M.R’ printed in red on bottom.
