Cardboard thread container with 12 spools of thread.
[.1] Small rectangular cardboard thread container with white bottom and light green patterned lid. ‘COATS/(chain link circle)/Super SHEEN/FAST COLOUR’ printed in white and black on lid top. Green oval behind ‘Super’ and red oval behind ‘Sheen’. ‘Super SHEEN J. & P. COATS CHAIN’ printed on each side of lid. ‘ART No. x672/Cotton Thread Made in Great Britain/12 Spools each 100 Yds. (92 Metres)’ printed on one end of lid. ‘(chain link circle) 40 Super SHEEN/CHAIN’ printed on opposite end of lid. 25mm long rectangular section cut out of this end to reveal light blue sticker marked ‘434’ in black on container bottom. ‘F05?A’ ink stamped on container bottom.
[.2] – [.11] Ten unused wooden thread spools with cotton thread. ‘J. & P. COATS 100 YDS. MACHINE 40 TWIST 92 MET./Super SHEEN’ marked in green on cream sticker on one end. ‘MERCER COTTON FAST COLOUR M.R’ printed in red around a green chain link circle on cream sticker on other end.
[.2] – [.4] Three spools of green thread, colour number 677. Slanted grooves in the wood around each end.
[.5] – [.7] Three spools of orange thread, colour number 717. Smooth wood around each end.
[.8] – [.9] Two spools of brown thread, colour number 578. Slanted grooves in the wood around each end.
[.10] Spool of purple thread, colour number 515. Smooth wood around each end.
[.11] Spool of light green thread, colour number 470. Smooth wood around each end.
[.12] Spool of pale yellow thread with small slanted grooves in wood around each end. ‘J. & P. COATS 100 YDS. MACHINE 40 TWIST 92 MET./Super SHEEN’ marked in green on white sticker on one end. ‘SUPER SHEEN FAST COLOUR MERCERISED/PRIMROSE/744’ printed in red on white sticker on opposite end.
[.13] Spool of light blue yellow thread. with ‘J.DEWHURST & SONS/SYLKO/FAST DYE/MERCERISED COTTON/100 YARDS/91 METRES/MADE IN AUSTRALIA/D.29/PEACOCK’ printed in blue on white sticker on one end. ‘DEWHURT’S/SYLKO/THREE SHELLS/MACHINE 50 TWIST’ printed on blue and red sticker.
