White cotton. Wide, round neck with drawtapes. "V" shaped panel sewn over bodice fabric. Ayreshire work, which has probably been taken from another earlier christening gown. Stem stitch satin and raised satin stitch, knots and needlework fillings. Repeated in wide panel on skirt, with frills, and narrow section added to hem. Short sleeves with sections of added embroidery. Fastens with tapes at neck and waist. Machine sewn, quite poorly. National Trust registration no. 76-27-13.
