White muslin. Round neck, ties with draw tapes. Edges with narrow bobbin lace. Inset panel of white embroidery - broderie anglaise with embroidered flower sprays and varieties of drawn thread work. Panel edged with muslin frill, extending around neck at back, with scalloped and embroidered edge. Short sleeves, with stitched puffs, edges with lace. Have been let out with gusset under arm. This section trimmed with machinery valenciennes. Skirt gathered onto narrow waistband. Full, with deep section of hand embroidery matching bodice. Scalloped edge, oversewn with blanket stitch and trim of same bobbin lace. Back fastening with tapes at neck and waist and 2 pearl buttons. All hand sewn. Probably for young child. Purchased Christie's Auction, 20 Nov 79, Lot 173.
