Pale blue. Square neck, piped in same material. Short sleeves, ruched & frilled in same material & piped at shoulder seam. 2 rows of machinery "bobbin" lace. Neck has narrow frill of machinery embroidered net. Front buttoning with large pearl buttons (10). Extensive lace on front. Lace trimmed pocket on either side, partly to the back. 2 wide rows of same material pleated frills all around above hem. Back bodice part cut in 4 sections, skirt part in 2, with centre waist. Lace repeated extensively on bodice. Inside hem only lined with stiffened muslin. Mostly machine sewn (lock stitch). Made for a Golden Wedding party according to Christie's catalogue.
