Young girl's dress. White lawn. Fairly high round neck with crochet insert. 3 vertical rows of Irish(?) lace insertion down front with 4 groups of pintucking and hand worked buttonholing. On shoulders 2 rows of embroidered knots. Bodice extends in small apron- effect over waistline. This section formerly part of bodice. Join marks still on bodice fabric. Fitted three quarters length sleeves with Irish lace insertion at top, and cuff and 4 rows of pintucking. Fastens at back with 5 pearl buttons on placket and hook(s) & eye(s) ? at top. 2 rows of Irish lace insertion at waist. Skirt gathered on to lace. 3 rows of pintucking and one lace insertion above hem. Mostly machine sewn, though has been altered by hand.
