Belonged to Bertha Mary Lee Steere. PETTICOAT: Bright pink, cotton, v-neck. 4 hooks & eyes down back. Layered hem. DRESS: Dropped waistline, boat-neck, short sleeves. Bodice; alternating vertical strips of machine lace and embroidery lace around neck. Sleeves; one strip lace, one strip of embroidery trimmed with narrower lace. Horizontal strip embroidered around hips at front only. Skirt; front lawn in three gathered layers trimmed with narrow lace. Back - lawn, gathered at waist, 7 rows pin tucking at hem. Wide lace attached to layer underneath. 5 mother-of-pearl buttons at back - 3 button holes & 2 loops. Vertical pintucks either side of opening.
