Worn by a member of the Harper family of Woodbridge. Black. Fitted bodice, cuirass shape. Satin. Front fastening with 13 hooks. High at back of neck, with deep "V" in front. Black cotton lace frill inside neckline and half way down front of bodice. Deep panel of black beading on lace down each side of front opening. Sleeves wide, elbow-on lace. Black lace over black satin. Large satin bow on each shoulder Simulat frill. Front beading and lace extends back in circular shape. Striped cotton lining boned with 12 bones. One on each fastening. 2 on each dart, on each side of front fastening. One central side seam. Back cut in 6 sections, with bone on each seam. 2 black l panels extend to point at back (matching point in front),with ace bow. Waist band sewn to bones. Section of spare lace was pinned inside arm.
