White cotton. Yoked dress, with square insert neckline of broderie anglaise and second square forming yoke. Matching frill. Very full, gathered sleeves with insertion and frill of broderie anglaise. Skirt gathered onto yoke. Skirt has insertion of broderie anglaise with 6 rows of tucking and broad panel of embroidery at hem. pattern of leaves and branches in satin stitch, stem stitch, and knots. Deep row of broderie anglaise at hem. Scalloped edge. Embroidery all hand worked. Seams etc. machinery sewn. Worn by the Brierley children. Probably fit a child of 4 to 6 ca.
