Epee bayonet. 1886 pattern.
[.a] blade; long, narrow, cruciform steel blade stamped at base G(in circle) E(in circle) - could be B or E?. Crossguard; just barrel ring - no quillon opposite. Locking spring under crossguard. Stamped ( 'initials or ornate H) 29855 (see original data sheet). Hilt; one piece grip and pommel - nickel. Stamped on base with small "c" in circle.
[.b] long circular tapering to knob at end. Metal ring round throat forming squared bar loop. Ring stamped "?3713?"
