[.a]Bayonet.
Blade; single edged - deep fuller - widening at top before tapering to double edged point. Back edge of blade stamped 'crown/W/16' and inspection stamp of 'crown/B'. Blade worked art ricasso - '?.G.HAENEL/SUHL'.
Hilt; Wooden hand grip with angled striations held by 2 screws. Backedge - broad metal rib with small inspection mark at base. Metal pommel with spring lock. Two inspection marks at base.
Crossguard ; Remnant of barrel ring and opposite, a downward curving quillon. Inspection stamp on upper surface near blade.
[.b] Scabbard;
Blue metal , flat tapering to round ferrule at tip. Squared off rounded teardrop shaped frog with screw above it. No visible marks except small crowns inside mouth.
