[a.] hilt; wood, blade secured with simple wooden plug. Rounded one side and flat knob on end. Crossguard; straight, brass with equal length quillions (?) terminating in roundish finials. Blade; flat, triangular shaped, simple edged but with double edged point. Cutlers mark about 1/4 way up blade. Resembles a thistle
