White cotton nightgown (has been blued). Long sleeves, high neck, gathered at front under waistband and around neck. Opening at back, fastening at neck with drawstring tie. Made from 4 panels - one at front and three at back. Sleeves very slightly gathered at wrists under band of embroidered braid. Same braid over gathers at neck, and strip down front of gown between neck and waistband. Two embroidered (openwork) flounces with scalloped edges attached to either side of braid down font of gown. Two bands of openwork sewn onto gown on either side of flounces. Waistband consists of band of same openwork and attached to either end are the ties. Sleeves and neck trimmed with lace. French seams.
