The bodice appears to have been added to the skirt at a later date - skirt is all hand sewn, bodice nearly all machine sewn. Probably used as a petticoat or nightgown. Bodice shirred at centre front and centre back over waistband. Skirt very gathered all around waistline. Ties attached to front at edge of shirred section. Open at back to below waistline, fastening with drawstring ties at waist and neck. Flounces on neck and sleeves. Sleeves slit at wrists fastening with small mother-of-pearl buttons.
