DRESS, baby's \ CHRISTENING ROBE

Very fine white cotton dress - probably christening robe. Ayrshire worked panel on bodice and on panel of skirt widening from waist to hem. Skirt panel bordered by ungathered flounces? embroidered on edges. Gathering at waist. High neck & long sleeves. Fine embroidered band on sleeve cuffs. Sleeves slit at wrists, fastening with a single button each. Back opened to below bodice, fastening with 3 buttons and drawstring at neck, hem embroidered. French seams. All hand sewn.
