a. Cup. Bluish glaze. Footed, with band of gilding on edge. Moulded and fluted edge with 3 indentations. Two thick and two thin bands of gilding surrounding design of gilded leaves and flowers on white ground. Repeated on handle. Gilded band below edge on inside of cup. No mark. b. Saucer. Matches a. Moulded, fluted edge with 4 indentations. Thick and thin bands of gilding surround section of gilded pattern as a. and pink overglaze ground. Impressed mark on base: "(dots around crown) \ F.B.B." Nairn number C \ 15. Worcester porcelain of the Flight, Barr and Barr period (1813-40). Ref. Godden, Encyclopaedia, page 696, number 4343. Pattern and shape, although different colour illustrated Godden, British Porcelain, 1974, page 434, plate 547.
