In the Yilgarn Craton, great domes of granitic rocks are separated by belts of greenstone.

Greenstones are sequences of sedimentary and volcanic oceanic rocks that have been heated, pressurised, and dissected by large fractures (or faults) which are many kilometres long and deep.
