Louise Snook

Louise’s work blends a wealth of experience in textile production with a background in social work. Her pieces concern themselves with moments of ritual commemoration. From altar swags to a finely laid table, her work weaves around personal stories that consider the fragility of the human condition. When approaching her art, the viewer may walk around and through the sways of fabric, in the hope of experiencing the familiarity of design with new eyes. Louise has participated in international felt-makers network gatherings in both Hungary and Mongolia. Louise sits on the Designer Fashion and Arts Edge panels for the Western Australian Department of Culture and the Arts, and is president of the Western Australian Fibre and Textile Association (WAFTA).
