Kirsten Hudson

Kirsten’s work explores notions of feminine subjectivity in the modern world, and the exposure of self to the pressures of contemporary culture. She comments on the trauma the average person encounters in their day to day living, with the awareness ofHolocaust, Hiroshima, Vietnam and the ‘War on Terror” and the Americanisation of culture in a postcolonial context. Referencing historical notions of glamour, she reworks a chandelier into a portrait of her flesh, and of herself as a woman negotiating the fashion narratives of her time.
