BROOCH, gold, Coolgardie Exhibition, 1899

Gold bar brooch with two ridged horizontal bars with a small round coin, with image of Coolgardie Exhibition Building, attached centrally. Short, vertical gold bar attached at each end. Smooth, round, gold ball finial attached at end of top left bar and bottom right bar. Thin, gold safety chain with gold safety pin at end attached to small metal ring secured through hole in bottom of coin. Thin, cylindrical, pointed metal pin attached to metal tube hinge on right side of back. Pin secured with thick metal ‘C’ clasp on back left. ‘INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION/COOLGARDIE/1899’ in raised lettering on coin face. ‘EXHIBITION SOU…’ marked on coin back, with remained obscured.
