Horizontal, boomerang shaped, 9 carat gold brooch with round, blue, artificial stone set in six gold claws in centre, flanked by gold emu and gold kangaroo. Curved, gold banner above boomerang, between emu and kangaroo, engraved ‘ADVANCE AUSTRLIA’ [sic]. Gold star with small round pearl(?) in centre and twisted gold semicircular wreath behind, attached to banner in centre. Two small, chased(?) gold leaves on boomerang below stone. Thin, cylindrical, pointed metal pin attached to metal tube hinge on right side of back. Pin secured with metal ‘C’ clasp on back left. ‘9C’ stamped on back, next to hallmark of a boxing lion with long tail.
