LETTER, Arpad Szedlak to Director Northam Camp

H2002.66

Foolscap sized letter, typewritten in black ink from Arpad Szedlak of "Hut GG-15, Area 4/R/T Centre,/Northam, W.A." to H. Home, the Director of Northam Camp. Date in top right hand corner 6 March 1951. Letterasks for change of work assignment as bush-clearing is too difficult for him, having a frail constitution. He also asks for assistance in locating his heavy lugage which was still in Newcastle, NSW "and has not been sent to me although I have repeatedly asked for it." He concludes "Sir, you are the last resource in my need, I am putting/the change of our fortune into your hands. My family and I, we have had so many tribulations to go through that a modest, simple job/ in this camp would mean all to us. I would, therefore, request you to kindly let me have the benfit of a job in this camp,/be it as a hygiene man, or kitchen help, or anything else, as long/as our heavy luggage is outstanding.". Letter is tattered at edges.
