RELIGIOUS IMAGE - VIRGIN MARY

H1996.110

Sepia religious image of the Virgin Mary, glued to buff coloured cardboard. The Virgin Mary is depicted with a halo over her head and wearing the (calvary) cross with a heart wrapped in thorns. Light radiates from the heart. She holds rosary beads in her hands. The image was enlarged by Arpad Szedlak on his home made photographic enlarger (see H.1995.1372). At the bottom of the cardboard section, two typed notes, which have been glued on separately read: 'Foto: Szedlak./ Australia, 1956'.
