Sepia religious image of the Virgin Mary, glued to buff coloured cardboard. The Virgin Mary is depicted with a halo over her head, and wearing the (calvary) cross with a heart wrapped in thorns.
The image was enlarged by Arpad Szedlak on his homemade photographic enlarger (see H.1995.1372). At the bottom on the cardboard section, two typed notes, which have been glued on separately read: 'Foto: A. Szedlak/ Australia, 1956'.
On the back in blue pencil: 'FATHERS/ DAY/ SEPT/ 1961' and the numbers 1-7.
