Three shades of brown and cream check silk. Round, fairly low neck line, piped and edged with machine Valenciennes lace. Short, full puffed sleeves, with material pleated to make fullness, edged with Valenciennes lace. Fitted to round, piped waist. Full, skirt with material pleated into waistline, with hand-stroked, gathered section at back. Same material bow, with long, scalloped edges. Applied panels of same material, trimmed with brown and cream, fringed braid, in double row, forming "v" effect. Repeated at back. Back fastening, 7 metal hooks, 6 eyelet holes, one eye, and top button with loop. Lining of bodice, glazed cotton, of skirt, unbleached, open-weave, possibly starched, cotton and glazed cotton in strip at hem-line. Mostly machine-sewn, with gathering by hand and hand-finished. Pocket in right hand seam.
