Purple check silk dress with purple trimmings. High-waisted bodice opening at front fastening with 5 buttons and button holes and hook and eye at neck. Bishop sleeves with puff at shoulder, shoulder seam piped and set right back. Square shaped panel of decoration on bodice (front and back) and sleeves, tasselled braid and silk ribbon. Fully lined with heavy cotton. Half-crinoline skirt with large pleats on front and sides going into a section of tight gathers at centre back. Opens 15cm down front. Front has 11 decorative purple buttons down centre. Large pocket in right hand side. Scalloped hem edged with purple velvet braid. Fully lined in heavy cotton. Skirt cut in eight pieces.
