POSTCARD, Embroidered WWI Souvenir; 1917

Postcard, embroidered lift up fabric panel has three flags placed centrally, British in middle, with French flag to its right and Belgian to the left. Flags framed by a fine white embroidered border with pink flowers and green foliage. "GREETINGS FROM FRANCE" embroidered in pale blue arc and embellished with pink flowers appears below lift up panel. Reverse; address handwritten in top left hand corner, "Miss F.C. Pearce L.A.B./ Shenton Road/ Claremont/West Australia". "France/ January 10th 1917" hand written in top right hand corner. Bulk of postcard contains hand written message to Florrie Pearce from Percy James. "Dear Florrie/ I am here at last. Spent my New/ Year over here. It is very cold........Yours sincerely Percy."
