(.1) White pinafore, with "V.A.D." embroidered in red across the chest. Made from cream heavy cotton drill. The top section consists of thin rectangle which extends up at shoulders to tie around neck. Button hole at the end of each tie, which cross over at back and fasten on to buttons on waist. Three cream mother-of-pearl sheen buttons and one button hole at waist to fasten. Skirt section has one pocket.
(.2) Long sleeved undershirt, made from beige cotton fabric. Shirt has round neck, with epaulettes on shoulders, with a round black metal button at the end of each epaulette. Shoulders slightly gathered. Sleeves have cuffs, and two metal press-studs each to fasten. Only one metal press stud remains on shirt opening.
(3.) Long petticoat, made from same beige cotton fabric as (.2). Waist is slightly gathered. Three plain ungathered frills around skirt towards hem. Skirt is split from centre of waist, with two metal press studs and two hooks and eyes to fasten.
(.4) Right three-quarter length sleeve, made from pale green cotton. Sleeve is cuffed, with slight gathering at cuff. One button hole and small white plastic button on cuff. White cotton tape threaded through top of sleeve, to draw sleeve tight so that it fastens onto undershirt.
(.5) Left three-quarter length sleeve, made from pale green cotton. Sleeve is cuffed, with slight gathering at cuff. One button hole and small white plastic button on cuff. White cotton tape threaded through top of sleeve, to draw sleeve tight so that it fastens onto undershirt.
(.6) White nurse's hat. Consists of stiffly starched rectangle of white cotton, very slightly curved at base. There is one button hole at the centre of each horizontal side. Hat is stitched closely around edge, and then stitched aragain about 2 cms in from edge stitch.
(.7) Heavy white cotton (garbardine or other heavy, corrugated fabric) belt, tapered at end. Button hole at the tapered end. Beige mother-of-pearl button at opposite end of belt.
(.8) White cotton pinafore. Waist has slight gathers, and single button hole at one end, single white plastic button at other end of waist. Shirt section consists of central square white fits over the chest, and then two rectangles of fabric positioned further along waist, connected to chest section by shoulder straps. This back section has four button holes, and four beige mother-of-pearl buttons. Chest has a simple broderie-anglaise style design down centre. There is similar broderie-anglaise design at hem of skirt.
(.9) White pinafore made from heavy cotton fabric. Skirt is slightly gathered at waist. One long pocket on central waist panel. At waist there are three beige plastic buttons, and one button hole at one end of waist. Shirt section is rectangular, with two long straps extending from shoulder. Straps have button hole at the end, to cross over and fasten onto buttons on waist.
(.10) White pinafore, made from very light cotton fabric. Waist ungathered, has a few tucks at side. One square pocket at left of skirt. White cotton tape sewn to each end of waist to fasten. Shirt section consists of triangular chest, with thick straps extending from shoulder, to fasten around neck.
(.11) Short white apron made from very light cotton fabric. Slight gathering at waist. White cotton tape sewn to each side of waist. Apron consists of vertical panels of fabric sewn together.
(.12) Long white apron made from light cotton fabric. Waist is ungathered, has a few tucks at sides. Long pocket at left side. Cotton straps sewn to each end of waist, to tie apron at back. Apron consists of vertical panels of fabric sewn together.
