BATHING COSTUME, 2-Piece

Two piece bathing costume of the style popular from the 1880s to 1910s. Short sleeved bodice and skirt in one piece with band at waist. Knee length shorts, largely covered by skirt when worn. Navy blue cotton with black and white striped bands on bodice neckline, sleeves, centre front and skirt, and leg of shorts. Bodice slightly gathered onto waistband at front and centre back; fastens with pearlshell buttons at front. Skirt cut in five pieces fastening with hooks and eyes at front. Shorts fasten with drawstring.
