REPLICA CONVICT UNIFORM, Jacket & Trousers

Replica of the convict uniform CH85.118 a & b made for the W.A. Museum by the National Maritime Museum in Sydney in exchange for the opportunity to draft a pattern and make a replica for themselves also. Jacket (A) is long sleeved, high collared and button fronted. Design is parti-coloured dark brown and light yellow heavy woollen fabric. Six black metal buttons fasten at front. Seams are machine stitched with facings and buttonholes hand finished. Black arrows on yellow fabric, yellow arrows on darker fabric. Trousers (B) of same construction with facings of heavy cream cotton weave with cream coloured plastic buttons.
