MEDAL, QUEEN VICTORIA DIAMOND JUBILEE

Medal is more bronze in colouring than H90.0323. On obverse: the old head of Queen Victoria. Around the rim, "VICTORIA ANNUM REGNI SEXAGESIMUM FELICITER CLAUDIT XX IVN.MDCCCXCVII". On reverse, head of young Queen Victoria with a leafy bough beneath with "1837". Alongside, "LONGI- / -TUDO / DIERUM / IN / DEXTERA / EIUS" (Victoria the year of her reign. The finish of 60 happy years). The initials "T.B." are marked on the relief section of the shoulder. This was one of the official medals, struck in gold, silver or bronze and is the large 56mm size. Another was run, 21mm in size.
