a. Bronze medal with the crowned head of Edward VII and around the rim, "EDWARD VII / CROWNED: 9 AUGUST 1902. The obverse bears the head of Alexandra and is lettered around the rim, "ALEXANDRA / QUEEN CONSORT" and on a scroll at the base, "9 AUG. 1902" b. Red box, lettered in gold on the lid "1902 / CORONATION MEDAL" with a crown and entwined initials, "E / R". The lid is lined with cream silk and the base with dark blue velvet and has a ribbon attached to facilitate removal of the medal. Edward VII acceded to the throne following the death of Queen Victoria on 22 Jan 1901 and died on 6 May 1910.
