CH1981.25

Black corded silk lined with heavy black cotton. Front elaborately pleated with centre panel plain and triple inverted pleats, triple pleats and large single pleats on the sides. One side has row of 5 glass buttons near waist, other side has row of six glass buttons sloping towards back on flap. Closely gathered at back and small bustle would be worn underneath. Gathers held in place by tapes attached to lining. Opens on one side of gathers at back fastening with metal hooks. On other side of gathers opening with cotton pocket. Braid attached to lining to protect hem. Band of petersham ribbon at waist. Lining or under skirt attached at waist and side seams. Matches CH81.24 & 26.
