Faint bluish glaze. Characteristic shape of the Ridgway factory, probably ca 1815-20 period, although Nairn thought ca 1830. Chinoiserie pattern with peonies in the originally Chinese style colour "Famille Rose" and medium blue enamel. Gilded. Footed with band of gilding at foot and on handle. Repeated pattern border, again copying the Chinese "diaper border" - repeating blue enamel and pale yellow gilded sections. Pattern number on base "2 \ 1212". Fluted sides with scalloped rim. Ref.
