DRESS, early 1900's

Dress of lustrous cream silk taffeta, chine printed with design of scattered carnations in blue, pink and mauve.
a) Bodice: lightly fitted bodice, high waisted; square neck trimmed with narrow frill of pleated silk gauze; tiny short sleeves, formerly covered with gauze (?) oversleeves; lined with white cotton; 12 bones (4 missing; remains of internal belt, brocaded with maker's name in Windsor; front closure with 12 hooks and eyes.
b) Skirt: straight front, pleated back to accommodate small bustle; slightly trained; placket closure and pocket at back; hem lined with 2 frills of stiffened gauze and lace.
