SATIN SLIPPERS, WHITE STOCKINGS & WHITE SHOES

(a) Satin wedding slippers and a pair of white stockings, silk and cotton. Cream, single buttoned bar over instep. Low Louis heel. Beads and sequins at front. Addition 5.11.1985: Shoes of white silk satin; pointed toe; medium high louis heel; bound with cream silk petersham ribbon; leafy design is small round white glass beads on toe.
(b) Pair of satin shoes. Cream, pointed toes. Low Louis heel. Beaded front. c1900-1910. Found in collection with same number.

b) 'Probably 1900-05. Nice shoes - probably Vienna worked upper, not paris or England. Louis heel; meant for indoor wear. May have been worn for wedding. Beading has come off right shoe - needs conservation.
