(a) Shoes of black suede; open-toed; open-fronted with lace-up ties; punched decoration on vamp; high, solid heels; stamped inside sole 'Duchess/ Last', 'De Lisa Debs/ Designed by Palter De Lisa/ NEW YORK'.
(b) Court shoes of black leather; pointed toe; high throat with silver metal decoration composed of diamonds and daisies; high louis heel; stamped inside sole 'MADE EXPRESSLY FOR/ Bon Marche Ltd/ PERTH'; stamped under sole 'SOUTHALL/ LEATHER SHOE/ ALL SOLID LEATHER/ MADE IN ENGLAND'.
(c) Shoes of black leather and black suede; the vamps of suede pierced with pinholes and tear shapes, 4 pairs of which form eyelets for black laces; quarters and medium-height heel of black leather 'SELBY/ PRESERVER/ SHOE/ DE LUXE', '5B'.
(d) Shoes of black glace leather; vamp decorated with geometric stitching and punched panels; front lace-up; laces have small black aglets; high, narrow heels; stamped inside sole 'Parker shoes' (right), 'EXCLUSIVE TO/ BON MARCHE/ PERTH' (left).
(e) Shoes of crimson silk satin and crimson ribbed silk flecked with dots; round toe; the 2 fabrics crossover above toes with small heart-shaped detail; high, narrow heels; stamped inside sole 'MADE IN SWITZERLAND EXPRESSLY FOR/ BON MARCHE/ PERTH'; stamped on sole 'BALLY/ MADE IN SWITZERLAND'.
(f) High-heeled shoes of fine, glossy, black leather; high vamp with scalloped edge around lace-up vamp throat; flat black laces; heel 6.5cm high; stamped inside 'THE/ Grosvenor/ SHOE/ BY FARMER'S/ SYDNEY.'; underneath 'A.LOUDEN/ 272'; paper price tag on right sole 'Farmer's/ SYDNEY/ 40-4'.

a) Early 1940s. The wearer would have been walking on nails - the poor also tried to keep fashionable shoes. Bad shoes will damage the entire skeleton.

b) Tap court shoes. Cheap trim. Southalls in Norwich - so English made. leather. made for Perth Company. Size 3. Plain daimond pattern alternating with rose or similar on buckle. May be post-war, up to 1953, but since is good leather may pre-war about 1935.
