Pair of white kid boots; long, narrow profile, round toe; 3-piece vamp; side lacing with 10 handworked eylets; small Louis heel; lined with white cotton calico reinforced with tape; '2/-' written in brown ink inside each boot; 'Miss Jones/to be heeled' written in black ink on sole of right boot.

Information supplied by June Swann, world authority on historic shoes visiting from UK, during her inspection of shoe collection 18th October 1993.
'Early 1960s. Badly machine stitched. Round tongue. High heel for that boot - covered knock on. The heel is a replacement. Has been worn outside. Staining on edges. The shoes were too narrow, and foot has pushed shoe over sole. The heel is very badly fitted.
Inside: '2 ½ / 2 '. May be made by Clarkes of Somerset (UK). That company was certainly exporting to Australia at the time.'
