My nana, she was a single mum in 1945, she is strong, independent, tough arse woman! I strive to be a good example to my young daughter. Carol
Special females in our lives are our grandmothers, Nanas, mothers and sisters Jennifer, Lexi-Rose, John, Shaun and Livenia
Both our grandmothers are special females in our lives. They were old bush women and lived out in bush and lead other strong women. All their kids were born in the bush and lived with them. Another person who had inspiring cultural values is old pop Joseph Lawson. He was a great influence and we called him deadly pop, he taught me all the ways. I would sneak to follow and learn from him - Mt Magnet from Ningan Station. Yvonne, Darryl and Brian
Aunty Ethel is an awesome lady with a lot of love for everyone. Aunty Ethel is like a mum to me and I really care for her wellbeing. She is well respected and it's an honour to know her. Marsia and Ethel
A woman who inspires me is Nakita Armstrong, she is very independent, strong and has overcome lots of challenges. Another woman is Zoe Davies. She owns her own business, 'As One Nyitting' which helps young people get out of jail and stay out of jail. Serina and Tjania
My grandma took on the role of both mother and father combined. Strong, independent and always compassionate. Kinga Wangmo
My mother has been my support my whole life through hardship, illness and struggle. I thank her for all her love and care. Thank you! Najma
Strong women in my life are my mother and all my female Aboriginal colleagues. My colleagues value family, Country and always have the time to learn from others. My mother was the first nurse on Rottnest Island in 1962. I am always mindful of all cultures, I ask questions and learn as often as I can. I want to be a role model for my kids. I strive to acknowledge other cultures and enjoy all opportunities to immerse myself in other cultural experiences. Barbara

Erina and Aroha from Brake the Psychol (suicide support and prevention group) inspire me. They are all about family first - everyone is family, everyone is welcome. The help pick up the pieces, they look after my late brother's babies. They empower all ages and all cultures with comfort, knowledge and respect. They are women, true heroes in our community. I identify with them as a mother myself. I learn, grow and inspire from them. I reflect the same values in my children's show, The Dinosaur Box - teaching children to speak up and roar, helping them stay kind to their mind. River and Desiree
My grandmother, Alice Stack was stolen from Argyle in the Kimberley and moved down to Moore River. She was 13 years old at the time and had to learn English and work as a domestic. She was always standing and talking for Aboriginal rights, sat on the committee for starting Aboriginal Medical Service and worked at the Aboriginal Advancement Council. She had an amazing life, she really wanted her grand kids to know where she was from and where she lived on Country. We are proud to be her family! Michael
Thanks to all the influential women in my life, especially my mother and grandmother. They have always been there for me. Kylie, Denayah and Eileen
