The Western Australian Museum - Geraldton will be transformed into Bike Central these school holidays with loads of two-wheeled fun for children and their families.

Children can join in Two-wheel trivia, and test their knowledge of bicycles. Or they can give their imaginations free wheel as they design their own dream bike on a felt board or click together amazing bike models in Zoobed.

In You’re the Winner wear the highly prized yellow, green and polka dot winner’s jersey from the dress up box and take a photo of yourself on the winner dais.

Bike badge is where children can artistically express the fun and excitement of riding a bike by creating their own personalized bike badge.

There are fun workshops for all ages, including two special workshops on bike maintenance. The Family Bike Workshop will prepare children and their families with basic bicycle maintenance and Bike Workshop will provide teenagers and adults with more advanced bicycle care including changing bearings, seats, cranks and handlebars.

Children can get their bicycles ready for the Sunshine Festival Parade bike decorating competition – a great chance for children to be creative and make spectacular decorations for their bicycles.

Handle Bar Buddies will have participants creating their own impressive bike buddies to take pride of place on handle bars. These quirky little critters are full of character and are just the thing to make a bike stand out in the Sunshine Festival Parade. For those who don’t own a bicycle - these fun creations will look great in any bedroom.

For those keen to own their own personalized bicycle plates Licence to Ride will have them creating fun and funky licence plates in their own individual style.

Children and adults can join in a leisurely community bike ride in Twilight Tour on Two Wheels. Starting from the Museum, participants will ride along the Marina and the Chapman Road bike path returning to the Museum grounds for Picnic in the Park – with prizes for the best night-time decorated bike. Participants are to bring their own picnic, chairs and rugs to this alcohol-free and glass-free event.
