The Western Australian Museum – Kalgoorlie-Boulder is pleased to present Loopline… Where we have been and where we are going; a lecture by Golden Mile Loopline Railway Society general manager Mike Lucas.

The lecture will cover the history of this well-known railway network, as well as the current Golden Mile Loopline Railway and its future.

The first section of the rail was laid 110 years ago and was an important service providing transport and freight. Today, the Loopline is of great benefit to the local tourism industry, and attendees will hear about this in detail, and more.

The lecture will be held at 5.30pm on Wednesday, 22 July 2015 at the WA Museum – Kalgoorlie-Boulder. Bookings are recommended via 9021 8533 or eomog@museum.wa.gov.au. Entry is by donation.

Loopline… Where we have been and where we are going is the sixth of seven lectures this year hosted by the WA Museum – Kalgoorlie-Boulder. Fireballs in the sky: Understanding the light of meteors to perfect meteorite hunting will be presented by WA Museum Earth and Planetary Sciences and Curtin University Geoscience on 19 August.
