The WA Museum is seeking expressions of interest from Western Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples to join its Aboriginal Advisory Committee.

The Committee’s role is to advise the WA Museum on issues relating to:

  • the care and management of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander collections;
  • education and public programs that have Aboriginal content or that are of particular interest to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples;
  • relationships and liaison between the Museum and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

The Advisory Committee meets four times per year to consider general business- and four times per year to advise the New Museum Project.

There are two committee member positions available and the WA Museum is inviting Western Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples to submit an Expression of Interest to join the Committee. 

If you are interested in becoming a member of the WA Museum’s Aboriginal Advisory Committee, please send a copy of your CV and a short expression of interest (maximum one A4 page) of why you would like to join and what particular skills or knowledge you may be able to bring to the WA Museum. Young people are encouraged to apply.
