The Western Australian Museum is seeking expressions of interest from residents of the Mid West region to join the Museum of Geraldton Advisory Committee. Successful applicants will represent the community to the Museum and act as an advocate for the Museum in the community.

About the role

The primary role of the Advisory Committee is to link the Museum with the community it serves.  This is “two-way” liaison: representing the community to the Museum and acting as an advocate for the Museum in the community.

The Advisory Committee meets 2 to 4 times per year to consider general business. Being a committee member is a non-remunerated position.

Vacancy

The WA Museum is committed to creating an equitable and diverse working environment and encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and young people. The Museum values the importance of a work environment which is representative of the wider community, and which supports a variety of perspectives.

  • Appointment of members is for a period of four years from approval by the WA Museum Board of Trustees.
  • Members may serve a maximum of three consecutive terms (12 years in total).
