Relax with family and friends this WA Day and discover more about the Western Australian Museum – Geraldton.

A festival event on the Museum grounds will have a range of free activities for all ages, including art, craft, face painting, and live music and performances.

There will also be circus workshops and roving performers, a bouncy castle and food and drinks available for purchase.

WA Museum CEO Alec Coles said the public holiday is a great time to explore and play at the Museum.

“We hope to see the community getting together, having some fun, and learning more about their Museum,” Mr Coles said.

“A significant part of the day will be building a Sea of Hands for Reconciliation Week and visitors will have the chance to contribute to a painting with Aboriginal designs as part of an Artsource Community Canvas project.”

WA Day events start at 10am and will run until 4pm.

The WA Museum’s Perth, Albany and Kalgoorlie-Boulder sites will also be hosting WA Day events.

“The WA Museum is all about exploring what it means to be Western Australian and WA Day is a perfect opportunity to do just that.

“The Museum is delighted to partner with Celebrate WA and we are grateful to their major partners who have supported the events in our regions. It should be a fantastic long weekend,” Mr Coles said.
