An orange balloon with Celebrate WA written on it

Relax with family and friends this WA Day and discover more about the Western Australian Museum – Albany.

A festival event on the Museum grounds will have a range of free activities for all ages, including art, craft, balloon animals, face painting, and music, circus, skipping and puppetry performances.

There will also be a bouncy castle and a free community barbeque.

WA Museum – Albany Regional Manager Rachael Wilsher-Saa said the public holiday is a great time to explore and play at the Museum.

“We’re looking forward to seeing people coming together and having fun as they learn more about their community, State and Museum,” Ms Wilsher-Saa said.

“A significant part of the day will be building a Sea of Hands for Reconciliation Week and creating a unique artwork as part of an Artsource Community Canvas project.”

WA Day events start at 10am and will run until 4pm.

WA Museum CEO Alec Coles said the WA Museum’s Perth, Geraldton and Kalgoorlie-Boulder sites will also be hosting WA Day events.

“The WA Museum is all about exploring what it means to be Western Australian and WA Day is a perfect opportunity to do just that.

“The Museum is delighted to partner with Celebrate WA and we are grateful to their major partners who have supported the events in our regions. It should be a fantastic long weekend,” Mr Coles said.
