Names:
John and Blodwyn Timms (nee Lloyd)

Year:
1961

Location:
Wembley Methodist Church WA

Fashion details:
Blodwyn chose her dress from a bridal magazine and took the picture to a very capable local mum, Rae Warner, who made the dress. It was made of nylon, taffeta and lace and cost about 40 pounds. The veil was loaned by a cousin in England, and later also travelled to India to be worn by Blodwyn's older sister Megan.

The wedding story: Blodwyn was bonded to the Teaching Department and was therefore not permitted to marry until the period of the bond was up....than meant an engagement of 4 years!! It also meant that John made many many trips in his little VW Beetle to Manjimup where Blodwyn was the Principal Mistress of the High School.
They married on 21 January 1961, and the temperature was 40 degrees (and the dress was HOT), but the day had FINALLY arrived so who really cared? Blodwyn was attended by her sister Megan, and John's sister Anne; John by his brother Doug and his good friend, Ray. Doug's daughter Jenny was their flowergirl.
