A new species of the tachyine genus Tasmanitachoides from the Kimberley Division, Western Australia (Coleoptera, Carabidae)

WA Museum Records and Supplements | Updated 8 years ago

ABSTRACTTasmanitachoides mandibularis sp. nov. is described from the eastern margin of the Kimberley Division, north-western Western Australia. The new species is most similar to T. obliquiceps (Sloane) from eastern Australia, but is distinguished by its smaller size, shorter and wider elytra, less distinct elytral striation, longer and more conspicuous pilosity on the upper surface, and finely punctate pronotum. The new species is inserted in the most recent key to the genus Tasmanitachoides.
