A NEW PLIOCENE TEREBRATULID BRACHIOPOD FROM THE ROE CALCARENITE, EUCLA BASIN OF SOUTHERN AUSTRALIAWA Museum Records and Supplements | Updated 1 decade agoAbstract - The terebratulid brachiopod, Neothyris rylandae sp. nov., is described from the Pliocene Roe Calcarenite in the Eucla Basin of southern Australia. This is the earliest record of the genus from Australia, all previous records being of extant species. Neothyris is also recorded from the Miocene to Recent of New Zealand and Antarctica.
